Take a look at my video and tell me what you think:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekTLiaB2AYY
These guys are gone now, I don't know what happened, but I'm hoping they just moved on to where they were going, and more will come up and move in. They occupied the house for about a month, and now it has been empty for about a week. So I'm not sure what is going on.
If I don't get some tenants soon I'll be convinced that I was sabotaged.
I have some more houses on the way, and will mount these where there is no access from the driveway where anyone can walk up to them like these in the videos.

Those are nice videos you have!
My big brown maternity colony rotates around using 3 or 4 different bat houses. From my experience it is not uncommon to have them leave a house for up to a week at a time.
I am not sure, but I would guess those were big browns. Kent or Joe would probably be able to tell for sure

The poll is for all that you have. I imagine I should have increased the numbers being this is an enthusiast site. Ha-ha

Littles are not really indigenous to this area so I was thinking they were bigs too. Thanks for the compliment; I just wish I had more to post. I'm having Chiroptera withdrawals. Do you know of any clinics in the country to help me make it through the difficult time??

Well as a matter of fact I am waiting for some new bat houses to arrive. Thanks for the compliment, the camera isn't great just a Sony Nightshot capable camera with fairly good IR LEDs. Not so great at a distance, but good enough.
Its from the TRV line, not sure of the exact model number as it is being borrowed right now, but I want to say 38, or maybe 58. But it is just a regular 8mm, not Hi-8.
Did you see the inside house shot?

I would have to agree that they are big browns. Given the distinctive "black masking" around the nose and eyes. And judging from the video, your houses seem to be about 16" wide and the wingspan of the bats emerging takes up about 2/3 the width of the house...10 to 12 inch wingspan, I'd say big brown bats.
Great video by the way!!!!!

| Yes these are of my own design, there are four different experiments going on here, but I will have to wait for a while before I'll know anything. These are 14' 6" off the ground.

| Have you posted plans/pictures of them? If you haven't I wish you would. PVC seems like a great solution to lots of problems
