Here's  a shot of our new bat house......I know..... too close to the trees.

The bats are always active around the pond at sunset, swooping and vocalizing.

NIce Doug!  Is the bat house shaded more when the decidious leaves are full?  What is the orientation to morning sun or mid-morning sun?  Is it a lone bat house in the area?  To the left of photo one near the rocks is there a place to place a mega-rocket bat house on a post?  Great photos! :thumbsup1:

In the summer it gets about 7 hours of continuous direct sunlight starting at about 6:30-7:00 am. and is oriented to the east-southeast. Our land is on a western facing hillside so there isn't much hope for direct morning light before then at that particular spot.  It is the only bat house up right now. I'll need to cut trees to open up the canopy in several locations but I might try another one down by the pond to the right as it receives morning sun also. This is an 80 acre tree farm we own and maintain so we're planning many wildlife habitat projects.

Thanks again!
