Nice house brockbat. Is this particular bat house mounted in your yard or on your home?

Hey Joe. This one (L 02) is installed on a west by southwest outside of a barn near Mallorytown Ontario. Don't know if its inhabited yet. It's about 6 meters off the ground above a lower roof with about 1.5 meters (5 ft ) of space from opening to roof top. I'm going to move it higher when I get a chance. L 01 is mounted on my house in Brockville Ontario and I'm quite sure I have bats in that one. I can hear them landing at night. they seem to return every 30-45 minutes so I'm assuming there are pups inside that need to be fed. Both houses were put up in April, built from the BCI bathouse book and we are going to submit our volunteer bat research report accordingly. Isabel is very excited about this long term project as she is only 4 yrs old, OK maybe I'm the one who's excited! Anyway I'll try to confirm occupancy of both bat houses soon and maybe some photos as well. Thanks for your interest.

       Regards Brockbat.

Hello Brockbat

We have recently moved back to Canada after a number of years away and chose Brockville. We purchased an 1850's manor house and we HAVE bats and thats for sure. Write me and I will tell more.

Wow!  Is this an amazing coincidence that you're neighbors?  Good luck with the bats!

Hey Beauvoir House... Glad to hear that I have company in Brockville. The bats in this town are a little stuborn and messy. I've been working all winter on batproofing my basement as I'm tired of cleaning up guano and trying to catch bats at 3 o'clock in the morning before going to work. I think I'm ready for their return in May. Your house is alot older than mine making it that much harder to seal it up. I hope you enjoy an ecochallenge... I did put a bat house on the outside of my home and I did get bats in it but also got bats in my basement again..arg! Any way welcome to Brockville, I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as the bats do. Check my profile for an e-mail to send a message if you wish or just use this site.

      Regards Brockbat.
