Here's my 3rd bat house. It has four chambers 27"tall x 24" wide. Painted very light to see if the bats prefer it to my other 2 back to back dark green ones.

Hehe, I had to double-take that picture before I realized it was a house on a chimney. It looks nice but if I know my Direct-TV dish mounting requirements, you've mounted it on the west side of the chimney right? If so, will the bats get enough heating for a nursery?
Best of luck

Maybe that's why I can't get a DTV signal ........ the dish faces toward the southwest, kinda.
While the bat house is facing more of a north northeasterly direction. I'm hoping that the sun will heat up the chimney in the morning and that the heat from the attic will also help. It gets all of the afternoon sun also. I really don't want them to take up residence in this one, I am just experimenting to see what color they prefer. My other ones are a dark green with no vents so I went to the other end of the spectrum with this house.

| Batman, I saw this picture of the bat house you have built and it has really intrigued me. I do have one question. How do you plan to remove the Guano? I couldnt see anything in the picture to indicate this.

I have given it a little thought, although I won't implement it until I see bats are using it. I think what I'll do if they use it, and that's a big if, is take some sheet metal and form it into a shallow tray and place it under the bat house. I'll empty it as needed.
This house is more of just an experiment to see if my other houses are the wrong color and to see if I might need vents on them.
