Hello, everyone. I just bought a bat house last night, on a wild-hair. Now I'm thinking of all the possible scenerios and I'm wondering what keeps the happy multiplying bat family from moving into little spaces where they are most definately not welcome? And what about their droppings? I was thinking of mounting the bat house on the side of my house. I probably should put it away from the house, huh...(?) ((I have two dogs))
I'm looking for advice and suggestions. I'd like very much to learn from your mistakes on this matter. (No offense)
If you have a bat house that is designed properly and meets their needs, you can mount it on the house, pole, post etc. Their droppings aka guano is no worse than feces from any mammal particularly when exposed to outside air as any other mammal feces/droppings. Encourage you to read some of our posts within the forum and check out http://www.batcon.org as well.
