My house is a brick exterior of an unconventional design. Many bricks are broken in half and sticking out, and the other bricks have an almost bubbled-out texture. This results in a very irregular surface and If I try mounting a bat house to it, then there would be alot of air space between house and the flatter surfaces of the brick exterior. So I'm wondering if I can make a bathouse without a backboard, and mount it like that? It would be like my window shudders, except it will have a top and 2 sides. The bricks have very rough surfaces so I figure I wouldn't need to do anythig else. Think this would work out?

Should work just fine. Make sure the top and sides are well sealed against rain though.

Good luck,
