The little browns were so crowded after the exclusion I built them a larger house.
I cut v notches in the baffles so they could go between the chambers without going down to the bottom. I put a ceiling at the top of my baffles to keep the heat in better at the top. Then the roof was installed and roofing shingles added to make it watertight. It is mounted on a 20 ft metal pole attached to my sundeck. It faces north but the back is due south and gets a lot of sunshine. I had 72 bats last year. So far only 39 have returned this year in 2008. I relocated the small OBC house to my back yard about 25 ft. off the louver. The bats came back again had pups but moved to the larger house. In 2008 the small house is now 60 ft from my house. I hope to get a colony of evening bats in it.
The little browns have remained at the larger house for the nursery. I sometimes get a few evening bats and little browns in the small house, but no more pups have been born in it.
