I recently place a new two chambered bat house in our back corral.  Not knowing any other particular design, I drilled 4 holes on each side running the top length of the house sides.  My aim was to provide airflow, but not so much to let in a hard rain.  What kind of vent system have other been using?  Thanks.

I've used similar vents.  I usually drill the holes at the bottom third of the house. If you look at some of the pictures on here you can see some different venting methods.

I generally put a 3/8 inch slot in the front lower third of my houses running the entire width. I have started putting 5/16 inch holes on the side of each chamber in the lower third as well. Further research is being done on using a more ventilated house to increase airflow, but most studies indicate that a house with venting no higher than the lower third seem to work the best.
