I bought a bottle of black food coloring to darken the bottom interior of some of my bat houses. It worked really well. It was about a 2 oz bottle and I mixed it with water to make 16 oz of stain. I just used an old spray bottle and it went a long way. Worked much better than latex stain which tends to fill in the surface of the baffles.
