Nothing in my bat houses yet. Though I did see Big Brown's foraging in my yard and area the last 2 warm night's. A cold spell has moved in and is staying for a while so I don't expect any bats in my houses until probably may sometime. Thanks for the update Terry.

I put up a new, small nursery house on the south end of the barn the week before we left for our trip, and the next evening I saw a bat hanging on the bottom of it. The next day I looked up in the house, and saw 2 bats in there. I was surprised that they took to it so soon. It is about 50 feet away from the main bat houses, but it is a lot lower -- it is only about 14' off the ground, whereas the main houses are 21' high. It was nice to seem them in the house before we left, though. I had about 50 bats -- I didn't get an exact count when the emerged, because they came out so fast -- but I guessed that there were about 50 of them between the two houses. By the time we get back home in mid-May, they will be getting ready to start having their babies.
