| RickIt is more difficult to attract and hold big browns in a bat house.Placement of the bat house is critical and when the internal temps of the bat house exceed 95 degress F the big browns will abandon.I have been able to hold nursery colonies of big browns in several of my bat houses for approx 8 years now. These colonies are in a 5 baffle bat house.Using 2" lumber for the sides and inner roof does help control the internal temp. Also using 1" lumber for the baffles seems to help. Higher internal temps and placement of bat houses does not deter the little browns from using a bat house. Last edited on Fri Jan 6th, 2006 11:28 pm by kent borcherding
