I built a 3 chamber house last spring and had it up by May 1st. No bats, no problem. I have cleaned out the wasps twice this season and still no bats. Have we missed the opportunity this year or should I continue to keep it clean?

24" wide x 28" tall, vent on 2 outer walls 6" up.

North side dark gray, south side lighter.

Vee pitch shingled roof.

4 x 4 mounted 13' high near a drainage ditch (mosquito's) choked full of mesquites.

Real north Texas, outside of Wichita Falls, 10 miles from Red River

Ken always a good idea to remove wasps whenever possible.  Hang in there maybe you will get some bats.  What size are your bat house crevices?  ie. the space between your partitions.  Is the red river 10 miles away the closest water source? :usa1:

Hey Joe, forum was messed up for a couple of weeks?  3 crevices 3/4" wide, basic plans from web just added center space. I placed the house 10' out from a drainage ditch overgrown with mesquites. We have a large stock tank that is 4 acres when full that is just a few hundred yards away.  Gordan lake in Iowa Park is 4 miles away. The cith built an island when the water was down and installed 8 bat houses. Look like generic plans from web but no way to easily check to see if they are occupied. I will upload some pics when I get caught up :)

Thanks!

Ken T.
