Hello bat fans,

We're thinking of testing thinset mortar inside bat houses as an alternative method of creating footholds for bats. We haven't found anything definitive on how well it adheres to wood. It would be applied with a square-notch trowel (works great on masonry surfaces). Does anyone have any experience with this material applied to wood?

Thanks,

Mark,
I think you will get marginal results with the thinset. The problem when using to different materials is the wood will expand and contract at a different rate than the thinset causing separation. I can tell you this as I have problems with a tile floor I installed before the hardibacker materals came out. I would come up with another material.
